What is the History of the Welding Process? What are Welding Methods? What are the Types of Welding and Advantage of Welding?

What is the History of the Welding Process? What are Welding Methods? What are the Types of Welding and Advantage of Welding? What Is Welding By heating two or more surfaces to a melting point, welding joins two or more pieces of metal or thermoplastic. Typically, this process involves applying heat and pressure to the surfaces being joined, causing the materials to melt and fuse. History of the Welding History of Welding Method/Process ·          Earliest stage of welding is known as forge welding ·          16th century - Soldering process used for brazing silver and copper ·          18th century - Gas welding and Arc welding ·          19th century - Fusion welding, Metal electrode welding and Carbon arc welding. ·          20th century - Electric arc welding Several new...

How to Calculate Shaft Diameter? From Torque / Power & Speed

As we know the torsion Equation

Where

τ = Torsional stress induced at the outer surface of the shaft (Maximum Shear stress).

r = Radius of the shaft.

T = Twisting Moment or Torque.

J = Polar moment of inertia.

C = Modulus of rigidity for the shaft material.

l = Length of the shaft.

θ = Angle of twist in radians on a length.

From Torsion Equation we can consider

It can be written as

The polar
moment of inertia will be calculated from the following equation.

The polar moment of inertia for a circular cross-section is

From this, the maximum torque that can be transferred thru the shaft can be written as

From the above equation, we can calculate the unknown factors. In our case, the shaft diameter is the unknown factor.

Steel rim step by step manufacturing process

Rims are incredibly important to the entire wheel component which means rim manufacturing plays a crucial role in the production of wheels. xiaoys’s steel wheel rim manufacturing line is used to manufacture wheel rims for passenger cars, trucks, bus, tractors, farm vehicles and construction vehicles wheels according to user’s requirements, we can design and manufacture the rim production line to make 10 to 54 inch steel wheel rims PROCESS :- STEEL STRIP CUTTING RIM BEND FEEDING DEBURRING FOR BOTH SIDE STAMPING MARK RIM BEND COOLING FLATTENING WELD JOINT AC FLASH BUTT WELDING TRIMMING WELDING JOINT PLANISHING END CUTTING COOLING RE-ROUNDING INITIAL FLARING 1 ST ROLL FORMING 2 ND ROLL FORMING 3 RD ROLL FORMING 4 TH ROLL FORMING EDGE FLANGING FINAL EXPANDING VALVE HOLE PUNCHING PRESS DISC IN TO RIM COMBINED WELDING FOR RIM AND DISC BOLTING RIM AND DISC FEEDING, RIM BANK COILING ( 1-4 ) A coiler machine is an essential machine that is used...

DP Test

How DP Test Works??? Dye Penetrant Examination is commonly used for weld components. In this technique low viscosity liquids are allowed to penetrate in the surface openings and after penetration, liquid is made to extract out again by means of some developers. That is why it is also known as Liquid Penetrant Examination for the evaluation of weldment.  The examination includes five steps ·         Cleaning ·         Introducing Penetrant ·         Penetrant Removal ·         Introducing Developer ·         Examination Cleaning: - To start, the test surface is need to be cleaned with the help of wire brush or some old cloth using a suitable. cleaner. The surface must be cleaned from organic compounds (oil and grease), dust, scale and other pollutants because an even su...

Production procedure of a propeller shaft

There are total Eight steps which are required in making propeller shafts ·          Pattern Making ·          Molding ·          Casting ·          Fatling ·          Machining ·          Grinding ·          Balancing ·          Surface Finishing Pattern Making   -   It is a process where from the design of the propeller shaft we make the similar pattern of Fibre glass and putty. Molding   -   It is the process to make the mould to get a propeller shape. The mold is made from fine sand and Hardener agent. Casting   -   It is a process where molten metal liquid of propeller material such as manganese bronze will ...
